With delicacy and know-how, your luthiers work with particular attention on your old instruments, preserving their integrity as much as possible.

This service includes the diagnosis of damage, cracks and other deterioration.
The interventions are chosen in consultation with you.
We take care of all structural repairs : straightening deformed parts, gluing back breaks and cracks. Weakened areas are reinforced, missing parts replaced, and varnish gaps filled.

Your instrument is returned to you perfectly cleaned and tuned.

By appointment, you may try out the instruments as well as our beautiful collection of new and old bows.

Rent your violin,
alto or cello in Lyon

Renting your stringed instrument is an excellent option before considering a purchase. The Christian Charlemagne violin making workshop in Lyon offers you the rental of violins, violas and cellos in renewable quarterly contracts.

You have all sizes of instruments and bows available. Your child can also opt for a larger size instrument during the school year if the need arises. For adults, it is possible to upgrade to a higher quality instrument as you progress.
The violins rented in our workshop are systematically revised and refurbished between two rentals.

We also offer instruments for short-term rental or for events, concerts, etc. Contact us to talk about your project.

Adjustments and maintenance

String quartet instruments are sensitive to humidity changes. Musicians are advised to have the sound of their violin, viola, cello adjusted by a violin maker
twice a year, mainly at the changing of the seasons.
